Standard Regulator
The Standard regulator family has two regulators in it, the standard Regulator and the heavy-duty RegulatorHD. The standard regulator has standard, dual R/C universal connectors on the input and output side for connection to standard R/C products. The heavy-duty regulator has Deans UltraPlug connectors and 18 gauge wire on both the input and output sides. These regulators are for connecting to certain Smart-Fly components that have Deans connectors and other manufacturers that have Deans UltraPlug connectors on their units. Dual Battery Family of Regulators
The Dual-regulator regulator family has two regulators in it, the SuperReg and the TurboReg. Both these regulators have Deans UltraPlug connectors on the input and output to handle the high currents that these regulators are possible of. The SuperReg is suitable for aircraft with 100cc engines and below (approximately 8-9 digital servos up to 260 in/oz) and can supply approximately 7.5 amps to the aircraft at common input and output voltages. The TurboReg is suitable for aircraft with 100cc engines and above and can supply approximately 17.5 amps at common input and output voltages. The PowerExpander Sport is our most basic unit but has the capability to work in 40% size plane. It has two power inputs, supports eight receiver channels and provides one amp of clean, five-volt power to the receiver. Each receiver channel can drive three servos, which are fully buffered. Channels one and eight both provide power to the receiver for a redundant power supply to the receiver. The PowerExpander Sport is a good choice for dual-receiver setups. It is slightly smaller and slightly lighter than our previous PowerExpanders and our new Pro and 14MZ.
The PowerExpander Pro retains all the benefits of our earlier units while providing enhanced functionality. It has two power inputs with “Smart-Sense” circuitry, supports ten receiver channels, provides one amp of clean, five-volt power to the receiver and can be used with our optional failsafe-switch and charge package. Eight of the receiver channels can drive three servos and two of the receiver channels, the ones that correspond to the rudder on Futaba and JR radios, can drive four servos. Channels one and ten both provide power to the receiver for redundant power supply to the receiver. The “Smart-Sense” inputs provide the functionality of a sophisticated BatShare and give an actual indication of the status of the power supplied to that input. The LED indicator only lights up when the two input sources are within twenty-millivolts of each other. When batteries are used directly with the unit it indicates that both batteries are being used to draw power from. When regulators are used it give some indication of the health of both regulators. The “Smart-Sense” inputs provide the same protection against bad cells or shorts that our BatShare provides, with a voltage drop of less than a tenth of a volt. The PowerExpander Pro supports the use of a failsafe-switch when batteries are used directly with the unit. It also provides charge jacks for use with the charge-leads supplied with the optional failsafe-switch and charge-lead package. The charge jacks can also be used with battery monitoring devices to read the battery voltage

The PowerExpander Eq10 is very similar in form and function to our PowerExpander Pro. It has 10 channels, “Smart-Sense” inputs, redundant receiver power and optional failsafe switch operation when used with NiCds or NiMHs. The unit weighs 3.0oz and is ½” longer than the PowerExpander Pro at 4 ½” long and 3” wide.
In addition the PowerExpander Eq10 provides the functionality of our Equalizer on all 10 channels. Each channel is individually programmable for centering and throw. The programming control is built into the unit so there is nothing extra to buy and nothing to lose. Programming is accomplished by simply selecting the channel you wish to program on one selector and the function you wish to program on the other selector. The “Option Menu” of our Equalizer has been modified slightly to provide the new commands “Reset All Channels” and a “Calibrate All Channels” in addition to being able to reset or calibrate each channel individually. The other popular features of “Endpoint Hold” and “Servo Priority” have been retained to simply setup.

The PowerExpander 14MZ retains all the benefits of our earlier units while providing enhanced functionality. It has two power inputs with “Smart-Sense” circuitry, supports twelve receiver channels, provides two amps of clean, five-volt power to the receiver and can be used with our optional failsafe-switch and charge package. All of the receiver channels can drive two servos. Channel one also provides power to the receiver.
